OUR PROCESS

STEP 1: SUBMIT CONVERSION INQUIRY FORM


Once your build details have been received, our team will review your submission and reach out to schedule a free consultation.

During this initial consultation, we’ll take a deep dive into your build to fully understand your goals, needs, and budget.

Following the consultation, our team will prepare and deliver your initial build estimate within approximately 5–7 days.



CONVERSION INQUIRY FORM
STEP 2: RESERVE YOUR BUILD WITH A SMALL DEPOSIT

The next step is to secure your build slot with a $1,500 deposit.

This initial payment reserves your build date and allows our team to move forward with detailed planning and design.

We understand that some details may evolve along the way, but most clients feel confident locking in their build at this stage based on our initial conversations and past work.

STEP 3: 3d RENDERING & MATERIAL SELECTION


This is the stage where we review and begin finalizing material samples, swatches, and components for your build.

Whenever possible, we like to schedule an in-person meeting at our San Diego facility so you can experience materials and finishes firsthand.

Once your material selections are confirmed and the layout is finalized, our design team will create a detailed 3D model showcasing your personalized build


Note: If you're unable to meet in person we can arrange via multiple video formats.

STEP 4: Schedule VAN drop off & Build start


Our team will schedule a build start date and vehicle hand off meeting.

During this meeting we will review  your build plan, material details, contract, payment terms, and all aspects of your project one last time.

This is typically the last chance to make any major changes.

Minor adjustments and additions can be made along the way at our teams discretion via change orders. 


Vans can also be delivered to our facility for those who are out of state.

STEP 5: Van DELIVERY & TURNOVER


Throughout the build our team will provide updates and progress reports. Local clients can schedule time for in person update visits.

Once your conversion is complete our team will schedule a pick-up or delivery date where we will complete a full orientation.

And don't worry, we will be here for continued support as you adventure in your new rig!

TIMELINES:

All conversions are completely custom so cost and timeline may vary based on specific build details. Our rule is we never rush it.

We want to build a van that will last you years and years to come, not a van that we got out the door quickly.

We give a general timeline of 90-180 days +/- for your custom build to be completed. Timeline estimates are not a guarantee of delivery.

If your layout is one we have developed and built previously that does help speed up timeline. If your layout is novel that can extend timeline.

  • DO YOU PROVIDE THE VAN?

    Yes we can help you source the right van for you and your build! You will purchase the van through our Mercedes Benz, or Ford, contacts but we will do the heavy lifting of finding the van and getting it shipped to you, or to our facility. 

  • HOW MUCH DOES A VAN BUILD COST?

     All builds are custom, so costs can vary. The best way to estimate build cost is by scheduling a custom build consultation with Outpost Vans. Vans shown in gallery on average $150,000.00 +/-

  • DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?

    Yup! We can help with financing your custom van build for 15-20 years with traditional RV finacning OAC. Get in touch for more details!

    We enjoy discussing vans and recommend scheduling an appointment to meet us in person. However, drop-in customers may be turned away at Outpost Vans' discretion.
