Fleet Specialist I & II


ABOUT


Outpost Vans is searching for our next Fleet Specialist! A Fleet Specialist will be responsible for delivering a world class experience to rental customers as well as having their hands on nearly every aspect of the ever growing Outpost Vans rental fleet. They will additionally be responsible for keeping the fleet in peak condition as well as play a major role in fleet growth via installation, fabrication, construction, and training of our fleet and spec vehicle category. 



Core Responsibilities


Fleet Expert will also be responsible for training customers and clients on fleet products and vehicles. Detailing of fleet vehicles pre/post rental departures. Delivering a strong customer experience during fleet interactions. Installation of spec components and parts into fleet vehicles such as: windows, panels, fans, gear carriers, cabinets, etc. This role will be required to have a knowledge of basic hand tools and be able to use battery operated tools such as: hand drill, impact driver, caulking gun, rivet nut tool, hand sander, vacuum, pressure washer, jig saw, air compressor with pneumatic tools, spray gun, etc. 


  • Preparing fleet vehicles for departure 
  • Customer service and training on vehicle systems
  • Maintaining fleet vehicles to highest standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Frequently testing systems in vehicles 
  • Problem solving and implementing fixes 
  • Installation of components into fleet vehicles or projects
  • Fabrication of spec components 
  • Be able to follow written and verbal instruction 
  • Be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong reading comprehension and ability to follow instructions/schematics
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties and assignments 


Experience, Skills, and Qualification 


  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 1 Year in a shop or related environment 
  • Valid license with clean driving record
  • Marine or Automotive industry experience a plus 
  • Hospitality or Customer interaction experience a plus
  • Maintain and deliver phenomenal customer experience 
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work space at all times
  • Team player 
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks at once
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to execute on verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to be agile and adapt to rapid change 
  • Self starter who shows initiative 
  • Timely execution of projects and responsibilities
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • High level of attention to detail 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and occasionally lift 75 lbs 
  • Ability to work on feet, be kneeling, and laying down for prolonged periods of time.


CABINETRY/CARPENTRY SPECIALIST


ABOUT

This position will be responsible for construction, fabrication, some design, finish and installation of all things cabinetry and carpentry related for customer and internal van build projects. A successful Carpentry and Cabinetry Specialist will have a high degree of attention to detail, execution, and always be thinking outside the box to deliver the best final product in the industry.


Core Responsibilities 


Construction of cabinet boxes, drawers, faces, countertops, and other custom wood elements. 

Building and completing projects accurately and timely. Finishing material and cabinets to specifications of the project. Laminating, edge banding, and finishing panels to specifications of the project. Installation of projects into vehicles. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple team members to accomplish goals.


A Carpentry & Cabinet Specialist at Outpost Vans is knowledgeable and experienced with hand tools, power tools, and basic shop tools such as: Table saw, miter saw, band saw, planer, jointer, jig saw, hand drill, hand router, table router, drill press, impact driver, battery operated drill,  measuring tools, etc. 



Experience, Skills, and Qualification 


  • High School diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
  • 2-3 Years cabinet shop or related carpentry experience
  • Valid license with clean driving record
  • Marine or Automotive industry experience a plus 
  • CNC experience a plus but not required
  • CAD or SketchUp experience a plus
  • Team player 
  • Ability to hold self accountable 
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks at once
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to execute on verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to be agile and adapt to rapid change 
  • Self starter who shows initiative
